The concept of addiction comes from drug dependence (or drug addiction). Drug addiction is a mental state that made by the interactions between drug and organism, sometimes including the body condition.
Addicts persist in compulsive and repetitive use to pursue the effect of the drug or to avoid the discomfort when dose is reduced or stopped. Now addiction involves substance (drug) addiction and behaviour addiction.
1. Addict is driven by an irresistible force to use drug and use whatever means to get it.
2. Addict tends to consume larger and larger doses of the drug.
3. Addict develops mental dependence to the effect of the drug, and also has physiological dependence.
4. Addiction is harmful to both society and individual.
